To restore health:
- Identify under-functioning
mechanisms
- Promote production of deficient
substances required by those mechanisms.
To increase production of deficient
substances
- Replenish nutrients needed for their
production. These nutrients are likely depleted.
To maintain health once restored:
- Support production of the previously
deficient substances by supplying nutrients needed to produce those
substances. These nutrients are likely to become depleted by similar
conditions in the future."
Counteracting Ongoing Depletion of
Nitric Oxide
- The conditions that led to decreased
production of nitric oxide, such as stress, intense exercise, or
breeding activities will tend to re-create the problem. Once a horse
has developed a condition involving insufficient production of nitric
oxide a program of preventive care is essential to prevent a
reoccurrence. Insufficient levels of nitric oxide cause tissue damage
that becomes progressively worse over time.
